Invest: MATTE REVOLUTION LIPSTICKS
As one of the most iconic lipstick formulas out there, you probably don’t need me to tell you how amazing they are. Despite being matte, they have a softness and natural luminescence which allows your lips to look and feel hydrated while maintaining their natural texture. My favourite shades include: Very Victoria, Pillow Talk, Supermodel and Walk Of No Shame.
Invest: AIRBRUSH BRONZER
One of my all-time favourite products – the Airbrush Bronzer is a godsend for people who love natural glam and who struggle with texture and hyperpigmentation. Thanks to just how firmly pressed these gorgeous powders are, a more precise and compact application is possible, preventing any lifting of coverage from foundation and concealer. With it’s smoothness and ability to be built-up, it’s a must-have product for everybody’s collection. I wear the shade fair, and believe me when I say that it’s the most perfect bronzer colour for fair skin tones.
Avoid: EYES TO MESMERISE
While I know many people who adore these potted cream eyeshadows, unfortunately, they crease like crazy on me, leaving my eyelids looking patchy, oily and even dirty. If your eyelids are on the drier side, you may love these. However, if you have oilier eyelids like me, they’re probably best avoided.
Invest: BEAUTY LIGHT WAND
If you love highlighter, you probably already own one of CT’s Beauty Light Wands. For me, the shade Spotlight is a product I always come back to. While day-to-day I find powder highlighters to be more convenient, Spotlight is a stunning way to provide an impactful glow via a cream highlighter that doesn’t disturb your foundation and concealer underneath. I hope CT release more shades suitable for fair skin in the future.
Invest: K.I.S.S.I.N.G. LIPSTICKS
Another cult favourite product, the creamy K.I.S.S.I.N.G. lipsticks house some of the best, and most iconic, nude shades the industry has to offer with Bitch Perfect, Penelope Pink, Nude Kate and Yes Honey (originally known as Hepburn Honey). Each and every one of these shades are stunning and can easily be manipulated with different lip liners to create your perfect colour. The ease and comfortability of the formula makes them perfect to have in your handbag at all times. All I would say is that you must have exfoliated lips to experience these lippies in the best way.
Avoid: COLLAGEN LIP BATH
Of course, sticky lipglosses last longer, but, for me, the Collagen Lip Baths have a particularly sticky, thick and stiff formula which makes them uncomfortable to apply and wear. With a name that includes the word ‘bath’, I’d expect the formula to glide onto the lips effortlessly and leave them feeling ultra hydrated and smooth. Unfortunately, these don’t fulfil that wish for me.
Invest: AIRBRUSH FLAWLESS FINISH POWDER
The Airbrush Flawless Finish Powder is one of the best setting powders on the market and is brilliant for both dry, normal, combination and oily skin types. Given that it’s a pigmented powder, it lightly adds coverage to your skin, making it a desirable option for people with acne or hyperpigmentation. However, unfortunately, it does contain parabans. Hopefully, one day, Charlotte Tilbury will create a paraban-free version.
Invest: HOLLYWOOD FLAWLESS FILTER
Yet another cult favourite product, the Hollywood Flawless Filter is a dry-skin dream. As it can be used underneath makeup as a glowy base, or on top of makeup as a beautiful highlighter, its versatility makes it a standout product which so many beauty lovers class as one of their all time favourites. My go-to way to use the Hollywood Flawless Filter is as a highlighter after I’ve done my foundation and concealer to add a natural but effective, highlight to the top of my cheekbones.
Avoid: MAGIC AWAY LIQUID CONCEALER
Every concealer I’ve ever tried under my eyes has creased, but the Magic Away Liquid Concealer sadly did it on such a level that I can’t even risk using it. Makeup creases, and that’s just a fact we all accept, however, some products do it more than others and the extent often depends on skin type. I know many people who enjoy this concealer, but I found it too thick and difficult to blend for my liking.
Invest: LIP CHEATS
The CT Lip Cheats are amongst some of my favourite lip liners that I have in my collection. With a perfect blend of comfortability and lasting power, their performance is almost unbeatable. My favourite shades include: Pillow Talk, Iconic Nude, Walk Of No Shame, Love Trap and Pink Venus.
Invest: FILMSTAR BRONZE & GLOW
This powder bronze and highlight duo is the perfect palette for minimalist makeup lovers. With a neutral bronzer and golden highlighter, these soft powders are brilliant for quick and easy application, which will look flattering on the skin. If you have particularly dry skin, you may prefer the Airbrush Bronzer and Beauty Light Wand instead, but I do believe that you’ll get on well with this duo nonetheless.
I Love It, But…: LEGENDARY LASHES VOLUME 2
This mascara is perfect for everyday makeup. However, the issue I have with it is that it’s so hard to remove, so much so I’ve just given up on wearing it, which is a shame.
Invest, But Be Careful…: LUXURY PALETTES
Let’s be honest, £40 for a four-pan eyeshadow palette is very expensive. However, if you purchase one where you love each colour and know that you can use each shade equally, it will be an investment worth having. They’re incredible for quick, simple but beautiful everyday and evening makeup, and are such a good option for travelling given their dinky size. If you love heavier glam, these won’t be for you, but if you’re a more natural makeup lover like myself, these are amazing. My favourite Luxury Palettes have to be Pillow Talk and Exagger-Eyes. The only one that I’ve tried which I don’t believe to be worth the money is the Pillow Talk Palette Of Pops.
Avoid: CHARLOTTE’S JEWEL POTS
I adore potted glitter eyeshadows – in fact, they’re probably my favourite type of makeup. Unfortunately, Charlotte’s Jewel Pots (at least in the shade Walk Of No Shame) were underwhelming. For me, I found the shimmer to be too minimal and the formula felt relatively dry, so much so the whole shadow fell straight out the pot on the the first day I owned it. However, I know that some people do love these shadows, but for me I much prefer CT’s ‘pop’ shades from their Luxury Palettes.
