MAJOR GLOW SOFTENING LIP MASQUE by Patrick Ta
Patrick Ta’s Major Glow Softening Lip Masque has been a staple in my skincare routine since I first tried it at the beginning of 2021. Situated in its gorgeous packaging, this sheer peachy toned treatment can easily be scooped out of the tub, providing an instant hit of hydration through its ultra-creamy texture with a swipe of your finger or a brush. With a mint chocolate scent, this masque not only smells amazing but gives your lips a cooling experience. I just wish, as an alternative, it came in a traditional balm format so I could take it on the go wherever I am. Regardless, its my go-to nighttime treatment.
LIP OIL by Kylie Skin
With a doe-foot applicator, the Kylie Skin Lip Oil is a brilliant way of achieving a quick hydration fix if you’re on-the-go. While some lip oils can be thick, this one is incredibly light-weight while providing amazing hydration. With a very gentle scent, it’s a great everyday option.
OIL-INFUSED LIP TINT by NARS
If you’re after a fine and lightweight lip oil that has a more makeup-like look, the Oil-Infused Lip Tints by NARS are a great option. With a handful of sheer and shimmering shades, these oils are the perfect hybrid between providing hydration and giving you that feeling of looking a tad more fancy and put-together. My favourite shade is Reef, which is a sheer rosy-brown, with ultra-fine golden shimmer woven throughout.
DIOR ADDICT LIP GLOW OIL by Dior
Another makeup-like lip oil is the Lip Glow Oil range by Dior Beauty. Each with a sheer hint of vibrant colour, they provide a hue, meaning you can wear your favourite undertone of lipstick while having the benefit of a hydrating, glossy product. The formula offers a thicker oil than the aforementioned ones, but the huge doe-foot applicator allows application to be widespread, fine and easy. The shade I own is 02 Pink.
LIP BUTTER BALM by Summer Fridays
The Summer Friday’s Lip Butter Balm has become somewhat of a cult classic product in recent times. While the formula is less creamy than Patrick Ta’s Softening Lip Masque, the Lip Butter Balm gives your lips an instant hit of hydration (without the minty sensation) and leaves them looking incredibly smooth and healthy. What’s more, since they updated their packaging you can now apply this balm fingertip-free, making it a brilliant on-the-go product.
AFTERGLOW LIP BALM by NARS
The NARS Afterglow Lip Balms offer you the perfect hybrid between a traditional balm and an ultra-fine, ultra-lightweight feel of an oil. While there is a clear option, the range focuses on giving you a variety of tones that can be worn sheerly, but are surprisingly pigmented and buildable. The formula provides a cushioned look to your lips with a gorgeous but not overpowering shine. They’re a brilliant product to have in your handbag. My favourite shade is Fast Lane, Dolce Vita and Turbo.
MAJOR GLOW LIP SHINE by Patrick Ta
If you love gloss, get your hands on one of the Major Glow Lip Shines by Patrick Ta. Coming in three colour ways, I have the clear version which is infused with fine golden and silver flecks of shimmer, but there are two tinted versions as well: one peachy, one pinky. These Lip Shines are a beautiful blend of a non-sticky gloss and a longer-lasting hydrating oil.
ORIGINAL CARE CARING LIP BALM by Nieva
If you’re after a simple lip balm that does the job well, my favourite ever is the Nivea Original Care Caring Lip Balm. With a more waxy texture, its hydration effect lasts longer than a balm which has a more slippery formula. It’s an amazing option for a balm to wear underneath your favourite matte lipsticks if you desire a coating of moisture.
