The aim of my blog is to introduce my readers to luxury makeup, which not only works effortlessly, but feels great to wear too. Although I love to play with different colours, finishes and formulas, three wishes remain present at all times: Weightlessness, ease of use and quality textures. Like many people, I don’t want to feel my makeup, I want it to work effortlessly and look at one with my skin. So today I’m going to share with you my top products for light, simple, natural and effortless makeup which have a barely-there feel and texture which just work.
LAURA MERCIER FLAWLESS FUSION ULTRA-LONGWEAR CONCEALER – £25
With a more fluid consistency than the coveted Radiant Creamy Concealer by NARS, Laura Mercier’s Flawless Fusion alternative gives the skin a smoother and more hydrated looking finish. Not only does this make it a great option for people with dry skin, but it provides a luminosity and lightness while giving ample amount of coverage. It’s one of my most well-loved products.
HOURGLASS AMBIENT STROBE LIGHTING POWDERS – £38 EACH
With the complimentary colour for your complexion, these baked highlighters from Hourglass give your skin a natural, lit-from-within glow. With a fluffy cheek brush, these Strobe Lighting Powders become one with your skin, adding radiance to your complexion without exaggerating texture or looking intense. My favourite shade is Incandescent.
My highlighter brush of choice for the Strobe Lighting Powders is MAC’s 137s Long Blending brush.
NARS OIL-INFUSED LIP TINTS – £23 EACH
Time and time again I’ve experienced lipsticks exaggerating texture, settling into the fine crevices, and feeling tight or heavy. One product I’ve fallen in love with which stands strong against these predicaments is the Oil-Infused Lip Tints by NARS. With sheer pigment and a beautiful high shine, these tints are extremely creamy and comfortable, leaving the lips feeling nourished and moisturised. I currently only own Reef, a natural nude rose, but I will definitely be investing in another shade of this top shelf product in the future.
CHARLOTTE TILBURY LIP CHEATS – £17 EACH
Lip liners are a dream for people who love natural, weightless makeup. As (most) don’t settle into the fine creases of the lips, they’re a perfect way of giving your lips colour in a very comfortable and effective way. Charlotte Tilbury Lip Cheats have the best formula: Not being too soft nor too firm, they can be applied lightly and with increased intensity. With immovable pigment, these liners last on the lips very well throughout the day and are great to use on their own or on top of a lip balm or with a lip oil. My favourite Lip Cheat colours include Pillow Talk, Iconic Nude, Pink Venus, Love Trap and Walk Of No Shame.

PATRICK TA MONOCHROME MOMENT VELVET BLUSHES – £28 EACH
Ok, so we all know that we can’t ‘feel’ blush on our face, but we do know that – like all products – it can either exacerbate texture or help smooth it out. The Patrick Ta Velvet Blushes have a highly pressed formula, giving them sheer yet buildable pigment which is stunningly smooth on the skin. As they’re infused with shea butter, they have a satin finish which adds an extra hint of luminosity. My favourite shades are She’s Seductive, a rose-brown which is also loved by my Mum, and She’s Sincere, a peach nude with a subtle mauve undertone.
VICTORIA BECKHAM BEAUTY ‘BLONDE’ LID LUSTRE – £30
One of my favourite eyeshadow tricks is to create a dispersed sheen of finely milled glitter across my lids. It’s undeniably pretty and perfect for everyday makeup. Recently, I’ve come across one of Victoria Beckham Beauty’s crystal-infused Lid Lustres in the colour Blonde, a pale creme with a yellow gold reflect. Trust me, you only need the tiniest amount, and the sparkle is beautiful, light and flattering with its warmth.
CHARLOTTE TILBURY EXAGGER-EYES BIGGER, BRIGHTER EYES EYESHADOW PALETTE – £40
While I was extremely late to the Exagger-Eyes train, this gorgeous neutral quad has become a staple in my makeup collection, being reached for on a regular basis. With the firmly pressed formulas, the pigment is light, yet buildable, and effortlessly natural, enhancing your eyes beautifully for everyday makeup. As the neutral tones are infused with both rose and taupe, it’s flattering on many skin tones and for many eye colours too. I also love the silvery sparkly shade.
NARS SOFT MATTE COMPLETE CONCEALER – £24
If you’re like me and suffer with breakouts, the Soft Matte Complete Concealer is a great option for adding fine layers of effective coverage to these specific, and usually small, areas. While fluid concealers are brilliant for smoothing our complexions and covering larger areas of hyper-pigmentation, they easily spread out and cover a larger distance than you might need. This in turn adds more product to your skin where you don’t need it, thickening up your base. The Soft Matte Complete Concealer is my go-to for effectively covering spots – with a pencil brush the product placement is precise and helps to keep my base looking as light as possible.
My go-to pencil brush for this purpose is the MAC 219s Pencil Brush.
FENTY BEAUTY GLOSS BOMB CREAMS – £17 EACH
I’ve never come across a gloss which applies so easily and wears so well. With a single swipe and a few little taps with your fingers, you’re done. With a no-fuss formula, these glosses should be a part of everybody’s collection. My two favourite shades are Mauve Wives and Fenty Glow, and I’m waiting (im)patiently for a shade extension.
CHARLOTTE TILBURY AIRBRUSH BRONZER – £39
When you suffer with texture on your cheeks, you become exceptionally picky when it comes to blushes, bronzers and highlighters. When I tell you that the Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Bronzer is the smoothest bronzer that I’ve ever tried, please believe me. With its firmly pressed formula, it’s stunningly sheer yet buildable, and the colour for the ‘Fair’ option is perfection. It really becomes one with the skin and I now have no desire to try any other bronzer available on the market.
NARS AFTERGLOW LIP BALMS – £23 EACH
These have to be one of my all-time favourite products. With a quick swipe, you’re done and the pigmentation is stunning. They leave your lips looking cushioned and hydrated, and they’re great for putting in your handbag for reapplication during the day. I can’t rave about these enough. My favourite shades are Fast Lane, Dolce Vita and Orgasm.
KYLIE COSMETICS TRADITIONAL-STYLE MATTE LIPSTICKS – $17 / ROUGHLY £13 EACH
While these traditional-style lipsticks are matte, they’re rich with pigment, meaning you hardly have to apply any. With a fine consistency and smooth texture, they settle onto the lips beautifully and are super comfortable to wear on top of a balm. They’re a fantastic option for when you want to add a hint of colour but not feel as though you’re wearing anything on your lips. My favourite shade is Nova, closely followed by August.
PATRICK TA MONOCHROME MOMENT SILKY LIP CRÈMES – £21 EACH
Either worn as a cream or as semi-matte stain, the Patrick Ta Silky Lip Cremes provide the lips with a smooth, radiant finish while not settling into the fine crevices. Especially on top of a balm, these lippies are comfortable and flattering and are great for light and effortless makeup. I love all four of the light-to-mid tone nude shades currently available and I’ve found it impossible to pick just one favourite. I can’t wait for the shade range to be extended.
HOURGLASS VEIL TRANSLUCENT SETTING POWDER – £45 (FULL SIZE) / £17 (TRAVEL SIZE)
The Hourglass Veil Translucent Setting Powder is the most finely milled powders that I’ve ever tried. With a weightless quality, the powder sets your base makeup in place without leaving your skin looking dry or cakey, or feeling tight. You only need the smallest amount, and even though it doesn’t look as though much powder is provided in the tub, it will last you for a long time. With the smallest and finest amount of shimmer which looks undetectable on the skin, your complexion is left looking luminous, light and healthy.
CHARLOTTE TILBURY MATTE REVOLUTION LIPSTICKS
Last, but certainly not least, we have the Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution lipsticks, which are possibly one of the beauty industry’s most iconic range of products. Including the likes of Pillow Talk, Very Victoria and Walk Of No Shame, these comfort-matte lipsticks have the slightest sheen to them, making them easy to wear, apply, and look beautiful on the lips too. You can either wear just a little or build up the intensity, making them versatile for whatever type of look you’re going for. You just can’t go wrong with this formula. I’m not just saying this because it’s my name, but Very Victoria is definitely my favourite colour. Remember! There are Matte Revolution options in both the Hot Lips and Hot Lips 2 Collections as well.
